- Senior Strategic Analyst
Description
Do you have a passion for strategic analysis and enhancing Bermuda's capacity to identify and mitigate ML/TF risks? Do you have a keen eye for detecting trends and patterns in complex data? The Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA) is seeking a Senior Strategic Analyst to join its Intelligence Section, reporting to the Head of Analysis. This is a critical role supporting Bermuda’s fight against financial crime — especially money laundering and terrorist financing.
As a Senior Strategic Analyst, you will help shape Bermuda’s national anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CFT) and countering proliferation financing (CPF) strategies through high-quality strategic and tactical analysis. You will assess financial intelligence and relevant data, uncover emerging threats and vulnerabilities, and support key stakeholders by producing actionable insights and outreach materials. You will also mentor junior analysts, contribute to operational planning, and act as the Head of Analysis when needed.
This is an ideal opportunity for a high-potential candidate with a solid foundation in AML/CFT analysis who is ready to step up into a more senior role with mentorship and support.
What We’re Looking For:
We are particularly interested in applicants with experience or strong exposure to AML/CFT frameworks, including:
- Familiarity with Bermuda’s AML/CFT legislation or international equivalents.
- Exposure to FIU intelligence or analytical work, ideally using tools such as goAML, i2 Analyst’s Notebook, Power BI, Tableau, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Understanding of financial crime typologies, suspicious activity indicators, or risk assessments.
- 3–6 years of experience in intelligence analysis, financial investigations, or risk assessment.
- A master’s degree in law, criminology, finance, mathematics, statistics, data science, social science or related fields.
- Accreditation or certification in analysis or risk assessments (desirable but not required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder engagement experience, and the ability to work discreetly with confidential information.
If you bring a sharp analytical mind and a commitment to national integrity, we’re prepared to invest in your continued growth and training.
Why Join the FIA?
- Contribute directly to Bermuda’s national and international efforts to combat financial crime.
- Collaborate with local and international competent authorities.
- Develop your leadership and technical skills through mentoring and strategic project work.
- Be part of a dynamic, mission-driven team at the heart of the island’s financial security.
